The COMPOSITION project has delivered a template to help plan, install, operate and maintain ICT based systems in factory uses cases. This approach uses lab based test on small scale factory before scaling up.

According to the project’s consortium, there is much merit in doing test and debugging on a small and localized scale to minimize effort, disruption and resource needed when it comes to deploying such systems 'live' in a factory environment. The template takes into account ease of retrofit, interoperability, resource planning, project management, scalability and re-configurability.

COMPOSITION aims to develop an integrated information management system (IIMS) which optimises the internal production processes by exploiting existing data, knowledge and tools to increase productivity and dynamically adapt to changing market requirements.
